FUKUSHIMA — A large maze has appeared in a cornfield at a ranch in Kagamiishi, Fukushima Prefecture.
The maze is a regular summer attraction in the town. It has a route about 2 kilometers long that wends through the 1.3-hectare cornfield at Iwase Farm. Visitors have to answer quizzes as they try to reach the goal, walking along between walls of 3-meter-high corn, grown for animal feed. The maze is open to the public until mid-September.
“[The quizzes] were difficult, so it took me 30 minutes to get out. But it was nice I could make a great summer holiday memory with my child,” said a 40-year-old company employee who came from Fukushima.
